The rate of return on your client's dashboard is a Money-Weighted Rate of Return, calculated net of all fees and annualized. 

Money-Weighted returns are an industry standard for performance reporting but they are affected by the timing of deposits and withdrawals. This creates a more personalized return for your client but also means that two clients in the same portfolio over the same time frame could have different performance if the cash flows vary significantly.
